At the beginning of “Emily,” our heroine sees herself wandering through the desert.
Nevertheless, it does so in oddly conflicting ways.
Scully undergoes a very similar arc here, but is unable to alter the course of the future.

It’s a beautiful moment, one that helps our heroine move past the sorrow in her heart.

In Season 8, we learn that Scully is pregnant with another alien-human hybrid.

“All Souls” doubles as an Easter episode, which is a fitting follow-up to this Christmas two-parter.
