When done right,revenge movies can be highly entertaining.

With this in mind, this list looks at some of the very worst revenge-o-matics out there.

Watching them, viewers are likely to be more irritated or grossed out than charmed.

They represent the very bottom of this particular cinematic barrel.

Instead, the movie traffics in titillation and shock value.

It can safely be skipped.

The writing is fundamentally to blame, heaping cringe-worthy dialogue upon improbable scenarios.

The courtroom scenes, in particular, seem incredibly unrealistic, totally undermining the suspension of disbelief.

The problem is thatLet Me Make You a Martyris fundamentally boring.

Little happens, and when things actually, they tend to be underwhelming.

‘I Spit on Your Grave Vengeance Is Mine’ (2015) 2

The result isn’t a pure disaster but it’s a major waste of potential.

Utilizing her skills in archery, she embarks on a violent rampage to exact justice.

The idea of a silent protagonist is a good one, but the execution is decidedly lackluster.

The pacing is sluggish and the romantic scenes, in particular, overstay their welcome.

All told, there isn’t really much of a reason to seek outDefenceless.

But Eric mysteriously returns from the dead, endowed with otherworldly abilities, to avenge their untimely deaths.

The whole thing feels soulless, brought down further by Skarsgard’s charisma-free performance.

His shoddy work here is something of a head-scratcher, given that he’s so good in other roles.

Taken together, all this adds up to a pale imitation ofBrandon Lee’s beloved movie.

‘Vengeance A Love Story’ (2017) 2

“Rosario Dawsonleads this one as Maya, a college student who is viciously assaulted.

The heavy-handed direction and stark tonal shift in the second half make the movie feel exploitative rather than empowering.

Plus, the extended scenes in druggy nightclubs get very tiresome.

Nude Nuns with Big Gunsdelivers exactly what its title promisesan over-the-top, grindhouse-style revenge flick.

Some of them begin to feel gross, as if the film is playing them for entertainment.

On top of all, uninspired dialogue and awkward pacing are also big problems here.

Wicked Prayerfails spectacularly on multiple fronts, making it the weakest installment in the series by a significant margin.

The movie is marred by weak performances and a storyline that veers into absurdity.
