Bad CGI can ruin a good movie.
It can take audiences out of the viewing experience by distracting them from the narrative and characters.
These ten movies have moments of CGI that stick out like sore digital thumbs.

Landmark movies likeJurassic ParkandTerminator 2made huge strides in CGI effects that often still hold up remarkably well.
The climactic plane crash unfortunately plunges the whole thing down in poorly rendered flames.
At least, when the animals look convincing.

Legacy sequelGladiator IIis filled with CGI, much of it very well done.
The baboon fight features an animated pack of slack-jawed primates that feel completely out of place.

The most obvious example of this isthe stampede of brontosauruses that occurs about halfway through the movie.
More often, though, the effect results inrubber-faced monstrosities summoned from deep within the uncanny valley.

That’s because they are babies.
Asking a baby to act would be like asking a werewolf in theTwilightsaga to keep their shirt on.
Unfortunately, they vastly overestimated the ability of digital effects to recreate the innocent visage of a baby.
This digital spawn certainly looks half dead, but likely not in the way that was intended.
The movie would prove that assumption wrong.
Mamahas a twisty horror plot focusing on two feral children and their connection with a maternal apparition.

Botet’s performance was then “enhanced” with CGI to create the full monster.
BothQuantumaniaandThor: Love and Thunderfeatured distracting effects that instantly became memes upon their release.
It’s everything the film’s final fight between the two isn’t.
