Anyone else ready for a rewatch?
Collider: What do you remember about the first time that you guys did a scene together?
What did you most enjoy about working with each other?
MARK PROKSCH: I dont remember our first scene together.
It was probably a group scene of some sort.
HARVEY GUILLEN: I think it was the first fancy room, where I put stuff on the wall.

And were all in there, and we all had lines and bits.
Mark just opened the door and it was perfectly timed and he said his line.
Thats when I knew, in this group setting in the pilot.

I was like, Oh, wow!
Anything anyone said, anyone would jump on top and it was perfect.
That was my first memory of all of us together in a room.
PROKSCH: Yeah, that sounds about right.
It all blends in together after six seasons.
Im gonna miss working with Harvey though.

Hes a very intuitive actor.
Hes a very kind person.
Hes not a selfish actor.
Hes very fun to work with.
But Im not gonna miss his salty language.
He is a potty mouth.
What We Do in the Shadowsoffers a comedic glimpse into the nightly lives of four vampire roommates—Nandor, Laszlo, Nadja, and energy vampire Colin Robinson—residing in Staten Island. Alongside their human familiar, Guillermo, they navigate modern challenges like paying rent, attending social events, and dealing with supernatural politics, all while maintaining their centuries-old habits.
No, Im joking.
GUILLEN: I have a mouth like a sailor.
What was that like to do?
How is it to share a moment like that?
GUILLEN: That takes trust.
As an actor, youre put at ease with someone like Mark.
That scene is his moment, even though Guillermos talking to the crowd.
Im setting it up for Colin Robinson.
The joke has to be set up for that.
He knew exactly when to come in and do the punch, and it looks real.
People thought that he really did punch me.
Dont come at me!
That was so out of character for Colin Robinson.
It was so nice to see that layer.
That was one of the great moments that we had this season on the show.
Its all about trusting the actor on the set, and thats what we had on the show.
Mark, what was that moment like for you?
PROKSCH: You just play it as straight as possible.
We have great stunt coordinators.
And though it looks very real, were several inches apart in that bang out of instance.
GUILLEN: Of course, its sad that its over, but youre happy that it happened.
Ill take six years of working on a show that I love and continue to love.
It was also in the middle of pandemic, so I wanted to do it to amplify it.
And then, six years later, we are wrapping up the show.
I love the show.
I think its sad that its over, but Im really happy that it happened.
ITs given us all these new friendships and experiences and stories.
Its a gift that kept on giving, and continues to give, even after were wrapped.
PROKSCH: Its definitely bittersweet.
You dont see that too often anymore.
Its for others to say if it was a great show.
In my opinion, I would be a fan of this show if I werent on it.
Mark, what did you think ofThe Usual Suspectstribute?
PROKSCH: That was great.
The crew, per usual, hit a home run with it.
The look and the feel and the set was so perfect.
And can we now get that spin-off?
It leaves it open for all of them, but specifically for Nandor and Guillermo going to the coffin.
It was really sweet moment.
He did one for the camera, and then he pretended because that moment was for them.
That moment was for them, and he didnt wanna share that on screen.
He wanted to share that with Nandor and tell him what they mean to each other.
And Nandor saying, Call me Nandor, for the first time is a huge deal.
He’s saying, Ill do this with you if were equals, if were partners.
Im a big supporter.
But they ended up together, and we need to normalize that.
It doesnt mean that necessarily.
And thats what we got with these characters.
They literally went in a coffin together.
In a weird way, its till death do them part.
