And then, I went to college, became a designer and a philosopher.
My comedy, for 40 years on stage has always been as a little bit of a pissant.
I swear a lot, as my wife says.

I’m not dark.
Im dark to the point where Im funny.
Humor has saved my life so many times, emotionally, because I laugh at it.
Ive laughed at terrible things that have happened to me because weve got no choice.
Weve got a short amount of time.
So, what were getting in all these characters is that its manifesting.
This guy is really close to who I am the authentic comedian, designer, philosopher.Hes not Tim Taylor.
He doesnt blow stuff up, he fixes stuff.
Hes not Mike Baxter, selling outdoor stuff.

Hes a designer and maybe more of an artist than we’re used to.
Youll find out more and more about this guy.
Hes not a particularly good dad.
The other guys were pretty good dads.
He screwed things up with Kat Dennings character great casting there.
Hes never really been comfortable with this automotive thing because it was his dads company.
He never finished college as a designer.
The series stars Kat Dennings and Seann William Scott.
Instead, this is his life.
Her life is falling apart.
She left high school pregnant, and they never got along.
Shes back here, and he will not throw her out.
And his wife just passed away.
Its a very layered guy.
Ive never done this.
I dont even realize I do all that stuff because no ones ever seen it.
Ive just got weird art pieces all around because its not about showing it, its about doing it.
Most of my good ones are on the show.
ALLEN: Seann has never done anything like this, and hes just bright and shiny.
With Kat and I, its exactly like the characters we’re playing.
When we get active in the scenes, it comes alive.
Its like weve been doing this for years.
Seann has never done a live show.
Daryl has done bits and pieces, but not like this.
Dennings stars in ‘Shifting Gears’ alongside sitcom legend Tim Allen.

ALLEN: Well, I dont know what Im supposed to say.
Yes, I just did the first five-hour session for Buzz.
Its really, really weird to get back in it.
I cant tell you anything.
Its a very, very clever story.
Do you wanna do five of these?
I dont really believe its about the money.
It was really a struggle to get, and then maybe two hours in, I was doing Buzz.
Im so blessed to be Buzz Lightyear, to be honest.
Its gonna be fun.
I think were a year out.
Ive gotten up to the third act.
Well do the third act.
And then, well go back and clean it.
And then, Ill do it about five more times.
Its a really good story, guys.
The movie opens in June 2026.
Were real close friends, and I loved that.
WithToy Story 2and3, Im on a bridge.
Theres nothing likeToy Story 1, though.
That was such an amazing experience.
Its hard to say.
Id probably give it toToy Story 3.
