What Is Doc About?

Amy is brilliant with bodies but terrible with the people inhabiting them.

Dr. Pierdante Piccioni’s incredible story is the inspiration for this new series.

Something that does feel new, though, isletting female protagonists be truly, genuinelyunlikable.

Historically, arrogant men have been excused and embraced, while women havent been afforded that luxury.

Refreshingly,Doctakes that risk, and it pays off, thanks to Parker.

They dont even necessarily make it feel like the primary reason.

She can be downright vicious theres no doubt about that but theres a dark charisma there, too.

Each of them has its merits and downsides, with each relationship complicated but rewarding in its own way.

Thats somethingDocdoes a nice job of situations and characters with no black-and-white answers or ethics.

Even the antagonists have more to them than meets the eye.

One episode with Sonya, for instance, is a standout for this reason.

There simply isnt enough time to deep-dive into each case, making some feel glossed over and superfluous.

Docultimately doesnt break a lot of new ground, but it doesnt need to.
