JOE POKASKI: Honestly, Im most proud of my writers room.
I certainly cant do that, on my own.
Thats probably what makes me most proud.
When do you feel like all of that really started to come together?
POKASKI: My intention has always been to see to it we take our time with that.

Its always been my intent to make 100 episodes of this show.
Then, Episodes 8, 9 and 10, just forget about it.
By the end of this season, how would you say theyll feel about each other?

POKASKI: I cant give that away!
By the end of the season, theyll embrace what Cloak and Dagger embraced, in their first comic.
Its about, The universe has thrown us together and we need to understand the reason.

Its definitely ominous when you have a prediction that one of them will die.
POKASKI: Yeah, and its intended to be.
They saved each other when they were eight years old.

They are not there by accident.
It seems like this show is just going to get more and more emotionally intense.
POKASKI: Hopefully, if I do my job right, theyll be wanting to watch Season 2.

I think Episode 8 might break a lot of hearts.
I dont want to get into too much of the detail, but its part of the heros journey.
I think the audience should probably prepare to be knocked on their butts a little, in Episode 8.

POKASKI: Yes and no.
POKASKI: I happen to be someone who cant turn off my brain, at times.
I wrote an 80-page bible for Season 1, and every season has a similar throw in of structure.

POKASKI: I think its half and half.
My philosophy is to have a really good plan, so you know where youre going.
Then, if you really know where youre going, it allows you to deviate to the better story.

POKASKI: God, I dont know.
They make such good television, with shows that are different.
And theres the challenge of, how can we tell something different?
I think thats a challenge that artist would have.
POKASKI: Yes, but I dont want to get into specifics.
I think there are probably more success stories.
We have such an amazing crew.
We were able to do a lot.
POKASKI: Its so hard!
But for other characters, its tough.
You just need to find someone who can do the hard part of the job.
It forces you to find that analogy and break it down.
It allows you to break the character down into her basic emotional essence.
He was this man who just looked strong and you saw his tattoos.
He decided to not dress like a priest.
POKASKI: I like that it feels like a coming-of-age story.
I think Facebook, and things like that, help it not go away.
I remember being so scared.
What Aubrey and Olivia do is they bring this uncertainty.
Olivia brings to Tandy this decided cynicism.
Shes decided that the world has taken from her and she cant trust it, so shes gotten harder.
And Aubrey brings this fear to Tyrone.
Hes decided the world is unsafe and hes gonna hide, so hes become softer.
They just get it.
Its about this generation, too.
