It certainly deserves it.
For the uninitiated, the Pony Express was an express mail service that offered service between California and Missouri.
ButThe Young Riderswas less about delivering mail anyway, though our heroes did that too.

No, their occupation was an excuse for adventure, and that’s exactly what they got.
Together,this group spent most of their time fighting for moral causes and battling their inner demons.

So we’re going to move away from that and focus more on the core actors.”
It sounds familiar, doesn’t it?
Apparently, Morgan Creek Productions, the company behindYoung Guns, thought so too.
According toGetTV,Morgan Creek tried to sue ABC for copyright infringement because ofThe Young Riders.
Of course,Young RiderscreatorEd Spielmanwasn’t new to the Western genre.
He had previously developedhits likeKung Fuand would later go on to helmthe anthology series,Dead Man’s Gun.
Both of these shows are incredibly original in premise, withThe Young Ridersbeing the odd one out.

With 68 episodes total,The Young Ridersis a wild ride worth undertaking.
