At what point in the process did you know what this story was and who the character would be?

Did you have a moment of panic?

It hits me at different times.

Definitely when I got the call, it was one of the best moments of my entire life.

JOSEPH: Id probably have to say my roommate right now.

Hes a pretty huge Marvel fan and knows everything about the MCU.

He actually had aCloak & Daggerposter in his room.

He turned me onto all of theCloak & Daggercomics.

It was crazy to see his reaction.

JOSEPH: I feel like it was all easy.

Nothing was ever forced.

We both knew the chemistry was there and we felt it.

To have her as a partner, it was a great experience.

It was about finding things that align with that, and then bringing new things to the table.

I think we did a great job of modernizing it, a little bit, but not too much.

JOSEPH: Yeah, that was definitely number one on our minds.

Even though its a superhero story, people want to see that.

Because the show is so grounded and so real, its easier for a lot of teenagers to relate.

Cloak & Dagger

Almost everyone goes through tough times.

At the end of the day, theyre really the only people that genuinely care about each other.

They see how much they affect each others lives, and theyre stuck with each other.

JOSEPH: I think its a little bit of both, most definitely.

That just brings another dynamic to the show and it makes the show even stronger.

He really cares about his family.

You bring yourself to the character, but you also find pieces of yourself.

This show seems emotionally and physically intense.

How did you find the balance between those two things, and doing stunts and effects work?

The amount of investment is fun for me.

That adds another element to it all.

How much pressure is that to deal with?

JOSEPH: Its a lot of pressure.

These are regular kids who have to go through so much.

The weight of the world is literally on their shoulders.

That journey is really interesting.

Have you already had any conversations about where things could go, in the future?

JOSEPH: Im going to plead the fifth, on that one.

Every week, when we got a new script, my jaw dropped.

For every single episode, I was like, Were doing this?!

Just seeing how the story developed every week was really exciting for me.

I feel like we could go anywhere with Season 2 and what happens next.

Im excited and anxious for that.
