Now they are stepmother and stepdaughter, and their daily lives include the tension between them. Rhaenyra is searching to make a match for herself, and Alicent tries to encourage her....

In fact, the show itself reinforces the importance of strong characterization for the success of the show. No one is the hero of this world. But through the time jumps over the course of the season, we see him age over the years. By his last episode, he is clearly close to dying. As is the later scene, where we finally see the full extent of his condition. And he gets his wish....

This episode’s most agonizing yet remarkable scene serves as a fast demonstration of D’Arcy’s talent. Their strained relationship reached its breaking point when Rhaenyra confronted Alicent. Rhaenyra was straightforward with what she wanted and how Daemon would help her to achieve that. Despite its briefness, D’Arcy nonetheless managed to convey to the viewers Rhaenyras current state of fragility and hopelessness. This time, humility, wisdom, and gratitude prevailed. Since he didnt comprehend,he grabbed her by her neckand claimed Viserys was a slave of his prophecies....
